Coming from the French village of Podensac in the heart of Bordeaux, Lillet Rouge French Aperitif is a beautiful ruby-red blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and fruit liqueurs. Natural aromas of blackberry, ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, and brandy precede robust flavors of orange, ripe berries, and delicate spices. This aperitif has a full finish with supple tannins of fruit picked at the peak of ripeness. Lillet Rouge has been made in the same manner since 1887—merlot and cabernet sauvignon, aged in barrels with spices and chinchona bark are mixed with fruit liqueurs at a ratio of 85% - 15% and then matured for one year. Served solo over ice with a slice of citrus or as a base for a refreshing cocktail, Lillet Rouge is an excellent choice for those looking for something new.

Cherry-red color. Assertive bouquet of freshly picked grapes, black cherries, black raspberries, apricots and pepper keeps the olfactory sense focused. In the mouth, it behaves like a fat, chewy red from the sun-drenched south of France; tastes ambrosial and clean. Finishes short, mildly fruity and ripe. Best Buy. P.P.
